Ep 30: Ink and Insight: Crafting Stories from Life's Unique Experiences with Alex Bennett
Manage episode 390702823 series 3436070
Today’s guest is Alex Bennet, Bartender and Author of “A Shot of Oakies”. For most of his Alex has been working in restaurants in some capacity or another. As a teen he began washing dishes in his family’s place and over time, he filled every role in the business until, by my mid-twenties, he became the General Manager and ran the operations. In his early thirties he left and became a full-time professional bartender at a corporate restaurant.
During that time, Alex also returned to school and earned his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education with a certification to teach English. Alex always equates being a bartender with being a storyteller, so he combined his experience with his education and wrote A Shot of Oakies, the first of three books in the Olde Rosie Chronicles.
In this episode you’ll hear about Alex’s passion for literature, early career experiences, the intersection of education and work, and his book “A Shot of Oakies”.

These conversations offer actionable tips for listeners to create their own path to success and shatter whatever glass ceilings arise and overcome any obstacles on their personal journey.
