Emmanuel Rivera's pinch-hit single knocked in Nick Fortes with the winning run, as the Miami Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 in ten innings, snapping a five-game losing streak against the Dodgers and Phillies, the teams with the two best records in the National League.

Each team blew a three-run lead, with the Phillies jumping out early on Nick Castellanos' three-run home run in the first inning off Marlins starter Braxton Garrett, making his first start of the season. Garrett would go 5 1/3 innings, allowing five earned runs.

The Marlins scratched and clawed at Phillies' ace Zack Wheeler until Josh Bell cranked a three-run shot of his own in the third inning gave them a 4-3 lead. Wheeler gave up a season-high six runs.

Jazz Chisolm, Jr., added two hits for Miami, and Jesus Sanchez had two hits, including an RBI double.

Edmundo Sosa knocked in two runs for Philadelphia, and Bryson Stott had two more hits to finish off a red-hot series at the plate.

The Marlins open up a road series in Detroit tomorrow night, with Sixto Sanchez on the mound.
