Recorded on March 28, 2020 In this episode of New Business Paradigms, World Busines Academy President and Founder Rinaldo Brutoco and Chief of Staff Kristy Jansen discuss why the United States Government would be better off creating a long-term strategy to get COVID-19 under control than prematurely restarting the economy. Flattening the curve by slowing the number of people getting sick is essential, and the best way to get Americans back to work starts with better testing. The United States has tested fewer people per capita than nearly every other developed country, despite having knowledge that could have been deployed strategically from the start, but tragically were not. The business community is developing more tests, that offer faster results to determine if a person has the coronavirus, but that isn’t the most important testing priority. Rinaldo explains the difference between DNA/RNA testing and blood testing (for antibodies of people who already had the virus) and advocates for mass antibody testing. In combination with his proposal for a National Health Identification Card, the economy would be up and running in a comparatively short time. The second half of the show focuses on the economic implications of the “new federalism” that is developing due to a lack of strategic leadership from the Trump Administration.
