#13: Tommaso Ghidini - Head of Mechanical Engineering at the European Space Station

Today's guest is Tommaso Ghidini;
Tommaso is the head of the mechanical engineering department at the European Space Agency (ESA). He also coordinates the European project of developing 3D printing for space applications, a strategic technology for the forthcoming Moon and Mars missions.
After obtaining his Ph. D. in Germany, and before joining ESA, Tommaso worked for AIRBUS on all major civil and military programs of the European aeronautical industry. He has received a number of international awards for major aerospace industrial achievements and developments and is invited to lecture at some of the most prestigious European universities.
He is the author of Homo Caelestis a book that he published in 2021 and that recently won the Robinson, a prestigious prize given by one of the main Italian Newspapers. The book is a reflection on the relationship humans of the new millennium have and increasingly will have with the cosmos in which we live, where the Sapiens sapiens is ready to become the Homo Caelestis.
