Welcome to a brand new episode of Qtr Time, the UK's ultimate netball podcast covering all things netball in the UK and beyond!
Following the recent announcement from England Netball on Netball Super League 2.0, we sat down with Managing Director of the NSL, Claire Nelson, to get into the details on what the UK’s elite domestic netball competition will look like from 2025 onwards. This special episode includes everything you need to know, including some exclusive insight from Claire and a whole heap of talking points.
We cover a lot of ground, including: why four existing teams have been dropped from the league, the geographical spread of the remaining teams and two new entities, salary changes including a new banding structure, rule innovations we could see introduced, an update on training partners and how we can align the broadcast product with the league's aim to professionalise.
Lucy G & Lucy P also discuss what this means for the performance pathways and Roses programme, the pros and cons of smaller squad sizes, lessons we can learn from SSN & ANZ, the inclusion of a team owned by Premier League Football Club Nottingham Forest, and whether the two import rule is right for the NSL moving forwards.
There will no doubt be even more discussions over the coming months and we look forward to keeping you updated as we build into 2025. As always we love hearing from our lovely listeners so please do get in touch with us if you have comments, thoughts or questions.
