Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!
GamesCom 2024 has come and gone. This week I thought I would chat about my thoughts on how this year's show was, with all the reveals and announcements. However, I more so want to discuss what place an even like GamesCom has in the gaming world today, in the age of directs and streaming presentations, in the age after the collapse of E3, what sense does GamesCom make? It's a complicated subject for sure, but tune in to hear my thoughts on how I try to make sense of GamesCom and it's contemporaries in gaming today, and hints of what I would like to see them do to keep relevant.
