The Crossing of the Jordan River ultimately represents the work of Christ with a particular focus on His resurrection and His ascension.-Joshua 3:1-6's focus was on the Preparation for the Crossing, which reveals to us that the way into the rest of God is by beholding and following Christ.-Joshua 3:7-13's focus is on the Purpose of the Crossing, which is to reveal the resurrected, ascended, and exalted King Jesus who Himself is the living God who will not fail to defeat all His and our enemies and bring His people into their promised rest. This should give the believer great confidence for today in his Christian life and for the hope in future glory.-I. The Exalted King (vv7-8)II. The Living King and The Victorious King (vv9-13)
