Welcome to the first episode of Dark Shoals, a Vampire: The Masquerade chronicle set in New Orleans in 1964. In this episode, five strangers awaken in darkness, each with new powers and heightened senses. As they struggle to escape their wooden confines, they find a note directing them to a mysterious grocery store. Upon arrival, they meet a strange guide named Smokey, who reveals hard truths about their undead nature. As the group grapples with their new reality, they journey to an eerie old church to meet someone known only as "The Gardener."
