In this video, I discuss the King James Only movement, focusing on how we should judge Bible translations. All Bible translations should be judged on how accurately they depict the original writings of the authors of the Bible, not on how close they resemble the King James Version. There are several good and honest modern Bible translations, such as the NASB, ESV, and NKJV, all of which are bizarre targets of KJV-Only argumentation. However, if you investigate the claims of KJV-Onlyists, they are demonstrably false and misleading.

I discuss a problem with the KJV translation: the Romans 13:9 vs. Matthew 19:18 mistake where the same Greek word is translated as "murder" in one passage, and "kill" in another. With identical context, the words should be translated identically: this is a simple translation mistake; however, those fully encamped in the KJV-Only movement must perform mental gymnastics to explain how this is not a simple error.
