February 2020 was the wettest on record for England according to Met Office Statistics. The UK was hit by two storms; Denis and Ciara in subsequent weekends causing storm damage to hundreds of homes and businesses across the country. By contrast, the summer of 2019 saw the UK’s highest ever temperature recorded. A high of 38.7 was measured in Cambridge in July. So what does this mean for the insurance industry and the businesses they protect?
