In my conversation with Mr. Nate Russ, we spoke about what led him to pursue comedy, which began back in middle school when he realized he had the gift of gab and making people laugh.
When asked about his "it factor," he expressed his desire to bring joy to the world through humor and laughter. He emphasized how laughter is contagious; once someone starts laughing at a comedy show, everyone joins in.
We then delved into how he maintains authenticity in his comedy. He avoids following trends and instead focuses on standup comedy derived from his own real-life situations, whether on stage or in internet skits. He ensures to convey his authentic truth, stating, "I know myself." I'm thankful to see that his comedy is reminiscent of Bernie Mac, which makes it relatable to us.
