After a 6 month haitus from this podcast, I'm excited to be back to offer this interview with Allison Winston aka the Cesarean Doula.

In this episode we talk about:

-Allison's experience of having an undesired cesarean birth experience after planning for an unmedicated home-birth and how this led to the development of her work with the Cesarean Doula.

-The type of support women need when they have an unplanned and undesired cesarean birth experience (hint, its not just physical support!)

-What surprised Allison the most as she dove deep into the research about cesarean births.

-What do c-section Mama's need to know to help with their psychoemotional healing process and how to help themselves integrate the story into their body's and lives.

--

Allison Winston, The Cesarean Doula, is a birth educator, trauma-informed space holder, and birth processing coach. Her unplanned, traumatic c-section inspired her to create a global education and coaching service designed to help birthing people heal from cesarean-related grief and birth trauma. In addition to being a certified postpartum doula, she is a qualifying Integrative Somatic Trauma practitioner and Advanced VBAC Doula (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean).

Allison offers support groups, workshops, courses, and Birth Story Healing Sessions for individuals and couples. All of her offerings are available online.

Her highly-rated Cesarean Mothers Circle, a facilitated support group for mothers healing from unwanted, unexpected, or emotionally difficult c-sections, is now enrolling and begins Oct. 8, 2024.
