The Male Fertility Podcast is back and to kick start this series, in this episode, Shaun and Ciaran are joined by Oliver Wiseman, a Consultant Urologist based at Cambridge University Hospitals and Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic.

Both Shaun and Ciaran saw Oliver when they were going through their fertility treatment.

He is very experienced in the management of male infertility, and he runs many training courses teaching other Urologists.

  • What is a Urologist?:

Shaun and Ciaran talk to Oliver about what a Urologist is, what they do, and why men who are going through fertility problems should see one as soon as possible. Oliver shares how long it might take to see a Urologist and why you may not see a male fertility specialist straight away.

  • Seeing a Urologist:

Oliver gives some tips for when preparing to see a urologist, what to do beforehand and what to take with you. He also explains what tests to take prior to your appointment, what they mean and why he asks for them before seeing him.

  • Improving your fertility:

Together, they discuss what you can do to improve your fertility through your lifestyle choices, Oliver drops some advice for those looking to do so, as well as talking through the treatments that are available for couples going through infertility and what the future may look like for the fertility world and male factor.

  • Oliver's advice:
