Leora Kimmel Greene is the Founder & Principal at One28 Strategic Events. Even though her company is in Massachusetts, the name has nothing to do with Highway 128 in Massachusetts, they are focused on event planning and Leora has a lot of knowledge to share about that! Leora joins host Kerri Garbis to talk about event planning and the effort that goes into that. Takeaways Events are part of the overall strategic marketing and communications and fundraising plans, they aren’t just stand alone events. When planning an event, you need a community that is ready to join and contribute to the event. The biggest part for an event is finding your main vendors at the beginning and then fine tuning the smaller details 5 - 6 months out. During these difficult times, you need to be flexible and willing to pivot when it comes to event planning since guidelines and rules are constantly changing. You want people leaving the event feeling like they heard about your company and understand what you do. Define a goal of the event. People need to hear something three times before they really understand it, so expect to repeat yourself and your mission at an event. Your event is your onboarding for new clients. It shows them your company and what your values are and what your company does, and connects you to them.
