Kirsten was born in Nuremberg, Germany on a military base as her father was stationed there in the Army. She's was actually born in the car on the way to the hospital, Kirsten is the 2nd oldest of 5 kids. The family left Germany when Kirsten was 2 because her dad got re-stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington state. Kirsten lived in Washington state until she was 25. Growing up in Washington was NOT always the easiest for Kirsten as the rainy days were always around when she was younger, they would actually take skip days from school when it was a sunny day outside. Kirsten describes herself as a "LIFE LONG LEARNER" who as she put it in her own words she "LOVES TO LEARN FOR FUN"!!! As a child she struggled growing up as she would have pretend conversations with herself bc she didn't have many friends or feel seen by her family as dad was always at the Army base and mom worked nights as a night nurse and slept all day, needless to say the kids were pretty much on their own raising themselves. Kirsten describes her childhood as "everyone for themselves" which describes how the kids fought with each other and tried to "get theirs" rather than working with each other and coming together as a family. All the girls in the family were naturally very athletically gifted. Kirsten played all kinds of sports while she was growing up and in high school such as track, water polo, basketball, cheerleading, but her favorite sport was volleyball growing up. When Kirsten was younger the neighbors actually called CPS on her family bc the kids were always alone and taking care of themselves so the family arranged for uncle George to come and live with them and watch them, which this would in turn be one of the biggest blessings in Kirsten's life as she still has a very strong relationship with George to this day. About 10 years ago Kirsten had the opportunity to lead uncle George to the Lord and now uncle has a relationship with Jesus. Kirsten struggled a lot with her mental health when she was younger. Listen and be amazed at how God has blessed Kirsten with a beautiful daughter of her own, a loving and caring husband named John who loves her very much, and a church family that she is a part of that is expanding and growing in this next season.
