In math, standard deviation is defined as a measure of the variability of a set of values within a group. It indicates how narrowly or broadly those values stray from the average. Standard deviation measures the departure from an established course, the status quo, accepted standards. In order to live authentically and stand in your power, it may be necessary to deviate from the norm, either by a little or a lot.
