German mathematician and physicist Albert Einstein once said: "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." In this weeks episode of Startup Playground Podcast, you will be able to hear about the famous Danish bicycle culture which started in the 1930s. Since then the bicycle has become a widespread symbol of equality and freedom not only in Denmark but in many countries around the World. Therefore, to understand this phenomenon, in this episode we hosted actual Dane and Copenhagener - Oliver Emil Andersen - Founder of Behind Handlebars. His passion is his business. and his goal is to inspire people to bike and use the bike as a tool for pleasure and exploration.
WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A BICYCLE AS YOUR PRIMARY TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE?
Because it is cheap, fast, convenient.... and you get plenty of fresh air and exercise. What's not to like.
A personal message from Oliver: " The realization I had a couple of years ago was that I didn’t really know my city. I took the details for granted; the architecture, the views and everything that makes Copenhagen unique. I wanted to change that. I wanted to get that feeling of wonder that you get when you visit a city for the first time. I grabbed my bike and decided to go see some of the attractions that tourists see when they visit Copenhagen. Instead of just pedalling past it as I normally did, I stopped. Stopped and actually looked at my city. It was wonderful!"
