Join Pat Willie as she brings you two minutes of prayer and reflection. We believe that prayer is essential, life-giving, and life-sustaining. In this 2 minute prayer, we pray against gun violence. Please join us for 2 minutes of prayer to our Lord and Savior.

Hello. This is Pat Willie, the founder, and CEO of the not-for-profit ministry, The Gathering. When women gather, when women worship. Thanks for joining us for this podcast, the two-minute prayer. I believe that prayer is essential. It is life-giving and life-sustaining, and it only takes just a minute to pray.
This prayer is for lawmakers as it relates to gun violence.
Father God in the name of Jesus, we honor your name and we give you glory, we give you praise for you are our God. Our father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done. On the earth, as it is in heaven.
Father, we pray for those that are in the position of making laws and determining what needs to be done with gun violence in our nation. God, I pray in the name of Jesus for our president, for the Senate, for the Congress, for lawmakers. For city officials, for state officials. I pray that you would touch their hearts and their minds and that they are brave enough to make the laws and the changes that need to be made when it comes to gun violence.
I pray, oh God, that they will surround themselves with wise counsel, they will surround themselves with godly men and women that will advise them through the spirit of God. For your word says, sin is a reproach to any people. But righteousness will exalt a nation.
I pray that you would turn the hearts of our presidents, our senators, our governors, and our representatives. In all of, again, our lawmakers, I pray that their hearts we'll be turned to you, God. In order that they may do the things that are necessary to serve others and protect others.
God, I come against that selfish spirit that would call them to be concerned about political and election issues. And they will do what's right. And they will do the things that honor you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray that you would touch their hearts and their minds and their souls and God that servanthood would become their modus. In Jesus' name.
How can we serve others? How can we make the lives of others better? I give you glory for it. I give you praise that you're moving on the lives and the hearts of all of our lawmakers, in Jesus' name. Amen.
