The Animals That Saved Us with Zach Skow
Manage episode 322899090 series 3295015
Zach Skow is the founder of Marley’s Mutts, an incredible dog rescue, and the founder of the Pawsitive Change program, which aims to create opportunities for incarcerated people and pets so that they can find their path home.
Zach joins me today to have a heartfelt conversation about recovery, rehabilitation, and the importance of having chances. We discuss how animals, especially dogs, can help us redefine our ideas of family, the value of being in service, and how the 12 Step recovery program acts as a guidebook for living your best life.
This episode is all about believing in others, no matter who they are or where they come from. From how to work in animal welfare to a discussion about relinquishing judgment, this is an important episode about choosing hope for the future, for people and for animals.
Trigger warning: there is talk about eating disorders, addiction to alcohol, and suicide in this episode.
