Marketing, when you think about the word what comes to mind? For some its the romanticized world of the tv show Mad Men, for others its the groundbreaking work that Widen & Kennedy have done for Nike, or maybe you're like the late great comedian Bill Hicks and think, marketers are the spawn of Satan, and if you thought that I don't think anyone would blame you. Go on any social media platform today and there is an endless sea of objectively horrible content that serves no purpose and helps absolutely no one, especially the brands that publish said content.

Thankfully there are people who want to change that, and one of those people is Steven Burkhart. Steven is the owner and founder of the Arizona based Burkhart creative agency, an agency that provides its clients with creative services along with tactical marketing strategies, all in an effort to get their clients noticed. Steven brings a wealth of knowledge to our conversation that covers topics such as why content marketing has a negative image, how to have your brand come off as genuine and not tone def, why brands should never steal from creatives, how marketers today are playing with fire, and why school along with working in a creative hub are still important, just not in the way you think. And it all started at a church.
