Forum sherpa Colton Mulligan’s suggestion: be selfish. Instead of dispensing general advice after a shared experience, it’s helpful to complement your partner’s concerns with a similar experience. This is known as the Gestalt Method, or more recently, Forum Mindset, which seeks to provide comprehensive value through unified experiences.
