In this episode, we're thrilled to welcome Dr. Rachael Wooten, a passionate shelter medicine veterinarian with five years of experience, proudly representing her Black and Puerto Rican heritage. Dr. Wooten earned her DVM from Tuskegee University in 2017 and completed a shelter medicine specialty internship at the University of Illinois CVM. Currently, she serves as the Medical Director at One Tail at a Time Rescue in Chicago and has recently completed a Shelter Medicine Fellowship through UW-Madison and UC-Davis. Join us as we discuss her remarkable journey, being a mother in veterinary medicine, and the pivotal role of shelter veterinarians in animal welfare.
