Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. South African award winning Jazz Bassist Herbie Tsoaeli and the Centre for Black Thought and African studies, did just that through a conversation and live jazz performances which were held in September on Black Theology and Afrikan Time Music.
Joining us now, is Herbie Tsoaeli, Siyabulela Tonono and Dr Lerato Kobe as we look back on this event, its significance to heritage month and some of the lessons learnt from this experience.
