If you think you know who Bruce Lee was, think again. Thomas Lee, author of The Bruce Lee Code, is a longtime business journalist who has written extensively about innovation and entrepreneurship for major daily newspapers like the San Francisco Chronicle, the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, and the St. Louis Post Dispatch. In 2013, he won the Gerald M. Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, the top honor for business journalists. Lee is the author of Rebuilding Empires and also served as editorial director and lead curator for the We Are Bruce Lee exhibit at the Chinese Historical Society of America Museum in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

Thomas emphasizes that Bruce Lee was a curious and innovative entrepreneur who combined his interests in martial arts with a focus on storytelling and prestige in Hollywood. He shares his experience working with branding and marketing firms and emphasizes the importance of being curious and open to new ideas in the current hustle economy. The conversation also touches on the role of Asian Americans as role models for other Asian Americans, such as Bruce Lee, who paved the way for others.
