Kelly is an advocate for families living alongside addiction. Her passion is to help families living alongside addiction to find freedom in their own lives, remove guilt and empower themselves on their own journey of self-discovery. Through her own personal story of addiction and recovery, in addition to being a spouse living alongside addiction, Kelly delivers an educational and informative talk on this subject that is warm, lighthearted and engages her audience to think. Kelly has been an educator for twenty years with the District School Board of Niagara. She also facilitates workshops, has spoken at events in Southern Ontario, and offers online support to families through her Facebook page Finding Freedom From an Addicted Loved One. Kelly has a kind heart and is on a mission to support as many families and friends of an addicted loved one. We chatted about; 1) When we go through an addictive cycle our perceptions of our childhood can be a little warped and looking honestly at our past. Looking back on pictures for clarity 2) Listening to your gut and asking yourself, “What do you want to do and if it’s a yes do it and if it’s a no, don’t. 3) Talking to our kids in a way they will understand what is going on in the world and why we as parents are saying no to things. 4) Setting boundaries and no without an explanation is sometimes necessary. 5) “Kelly’s difficult path of going back to the relationship and leaving then going back because you believe you can “make it work.” Connect with Kelly: Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FindingFreedomFromAnAddictedLovedOne/ Facebook: www.facebook.com/ kellyjanethorne Instagram: www.instagram.com/kjt25rise Connect with Megan: For the Unleash Your Rebel Soul Experience: Energetic Healing to Revive You starting April 13 Join the sacred community on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SoulsUnleashed/ Book healing and protective energy for yourself and your home through private message on Instagram or Facebook Instagram: www.instagram.com/meganharmonytlc --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/Soul-FULL/message
