×Robot police are slowly being introduced around the world. Will outsourcing policing to robots ultimately make enforcement easier and free up human resources for other tasks as they say it will? Should robots be capable of making decisions about human behaviour? When it comes to the law, should enforcement be black and white, or should we allow room for interpretation on a case by case basis? Will removing the humanity from policing ultimately result in a more harmonious world, or simply a more compliant one? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Research shows that higher neural activity is linked to shorter lifespans. We can't turn our brains off, so how can we find periods of lower neural activity in a world where we are constantly stimulated? Are certain types of thoughts more harmful than others for draining our brains, and if so, how can we (if possible) avoid them? Why does our society still value constant neural activity as a measure of success and view regenerative time as a waste? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... The biggest polluters on this planet are big corporations. They create products that later on are shown to be toxic, then receive little to no repercussions for their behaviours, and go on to poison us more. Why do we allow them to keep getting away with this? Why do we continue to trust these companies to create new products and solutions with their dodgy track records? How has making profit become more valuable than human lives and the life of our planet? How can those people most affected by their negligence stand up to make change? What does it say about our societal values when we continue letting this happen? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Watch the video to this podcast here!!!! We discuss the difficulty of people breaking out of their comfort zones in order to form new connections, friendships, or getting into new situations. Why is it so difficult for some people to find new situations? Is fear of rejection holding us back, or are people more hesitant to make new connections in favour of predictable comfort? Are people hiding behind their "masks" more often, making it more difficult to find genuine connections? Why are some people so afraid of being seen? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... It looks like AI is here to stay, and will soon be taking over many human tasks. What does that mean for humanity? Does work define humanity, and if so, what will taking it away from us do for our culture and our individual psyches? What would the benefits be to more free time? Is it time to re-think our capitalist, work-centred culture and focus our efforts on things only humanity can produce? Will AI ultimately strengthen communities and human connection, or will it drive us further apart? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Watch the video to this podcast here!!!! AI is currently being developed to decode animal language and allow humans to communicate with animals. How may this affect how we think about and treat animals? Are we prepared to have our current assumptions about animal communication and behaviour challenged, and to adjust our beliefs accordingly? How will this potentially impact our current food culture and agricultural practices? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Watch the video to this podcast here!!!! Have you noticed casual culture seems to be the norm now? There seems to be a reluctance for people to commit to just about anything anymore, but this seems particularly true in the dating world. What has caused this sudden fear of committing to people, ideas, or things? Does this hesitancy diminish our capacity for genuine human connection, and if so, what are the repercussions of that for our own sense of self? Is accountability to another human essential for feeling connected? What happens when we withdraw from connection in favour of self-promotion and self-absorption? Scientists have found a way to use wifi signals to literally see through walls! What are the implications of this? Is this a tool that will ultimately keep us safer from threats, or is it a cover to extract more data and control? Does the right to privacy still exist in the modern era? If so, how might this be violating that right since there is no escaping wifi signals, and if not, how does this affect individuality? Should the public have a say in when potentially privacy-violating technology is implemented? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Watch the video to this podcast here!!!! Science has figured out a way to resurrect the Wooly Mammoth! What are the implications of this? Can this sort of scientific advancement lead to a better world? Are we playing God, and if so, is this a product of our intellect or our egos? What are the ethical implications of literally creating life in a lab? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... How have we ended up in a culture dominated with entitled individuals? What makes a person feel entitled in the first place? Does entitlement and selfishness necessarily go hand in hand? How could our cultural values shape what we perceive as entitlement? How can we find common ground with entitled individuals, and can we learn to look past entitlement to see the humanity in others? We've all had them, those existential crisis that make you question everything about yourself! Why do our brains send us down these rabbit holes of self-doubt? How does our current consumerist individualistic culture contribute to our over-active ego's? How can we use these crisis as opportunities to grow as a community rather than descend into self-pity and separation? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Research is well underway to develop technology that will read our thoughts. What would be the benefit to this technology? Could this help advance humanity or will it be used to impose more control and oppression? Should we have a say in what technology is funded when the goal is for it to become publicly implemented? Is it possible to opt out of technological advances or will it become mandatory to comply if we want to participate in society? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Have you noticed how quick we are to stick labels on those who simply think differently? Our media culture seems to claim they are celebrating diversity, yet seems to push us all towards one unified way of thinking. Who decides what normal thoughts and behaviour are and why are we so quick to label those who fall outside of these arbitrarily defined boundaries? Should a person who behaves outside of the "normal" box be ostracised and judged, or should we instead learn from other perspectives? Is it even possible to have a "normal" box given that we are all wired differently, and what can that do to us psychologically when we are fearful of not fitting in? We continue the discussion of modern dating, delving into the sex differences of attraction. How does it affect us psychologically when we are rejected? Do the sexes have different criteria for what is culturally acceptable to reject? How can we approach potential partners when everyone is hiding behind their social media persona's? What does a romantic partnership even mean in today's culture? Welcome to the land of no easy answers... Watch the video for this podcast here! As per your requests we are delving into the chaos that is modern dating! What is the "ick" factor, and why are we so quick to find each other's "ick's"? Does online dating dehumanise potential partners by making them disposable? How does moving dating onto social media platforms affect how we think about ourselves and how we come across to others? Are we prioritising self-image over connection? What does modern dating say about our current values as a culture? Welcome to the land of no easy answers...
