In the latest episode of Ti20 Off the Boards, Lester Quinones joined Kenny after making the decision to forego his final year of college eligibility at Memphis and enter the NBA Draft.

In the first segment, Lester goes into detail about his pre-draft workout visits with multiple NBA teams over the past few months. He shares how he came into the workouts ready to show what he could do for NBA teams and how he received really positive feedback from all the teams he worked out for. He describes how coaches and GMs were surprised by the level of shooting he displayed, but also how his facilitating and ball handling was a major part of what he showed during his workouts. He talks about the moment he knew he was ready to make the jump to the NBA was during workouts with guys that are rated higher in the draft than him and how he outplayed the majority of them during the team sessions. He says his play out there proved that his confidence in himself and that even though he knew he could be as good as the more highly sought after guys, the confidence that NBA decision makers showed in him was highly encouraging.

In the second segment, Lester and Kenny go through Lester's three year career at the University of Memphis. While it was a productive three years, Lester's career was full of abnormal times. They talk about being a part of the 2019 class which was ranked #1 in the country, and how scary the team could have been if James Wiseman had played. Obviously with the postseason being cancelled because of the Covid pandemic and the suspension of James Wiseman the season did not go as expected. Lester shared how his versatility on the court during the 2021 season helped lead the Tigers to a NIT Championship. Lester shares how, as a veteran, he had to play a strong role in his junior year in 2022 to help the team come back from an up and down season. He specifically talks about his message to the team as they struggled through the dog days of the season, and how proud he was as the Tigers made a strong end of the year push and helped Penny Hardaway get to his first NCAA Tournament.

Lester ends the podcast with a message of love for the city of Memphis and gratefulness for his time here.
