Kingdom Power (John 1:14; Luke 4:14-30)
Sometimes in life, people will ask you to prove to them that you mean what you say. Examples might be: “If you love me prove it,” or “Let me see.” Jesus demonstrated His love and power toward us in that why we were sinners, Christ died for us. His proof – His death on the cross and His resurrection.
John brags on Jesus and tells us the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we actually saw His glory, glory as belongs to the One and only begotten Son of the Father, the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is full of grace and truth, absolutely free of deception.
“The Word” is the Logos, Jesus Christ Himself. He became “flesh,” meaning the divine Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity, became human, like us. Romans 8:3; Philippians 2:7; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 John 4:2; 2 John 7
When John spoke of seeing His glory, he used the Greek word skēnos, which means “to dwell in a tent.” This is important because it takes us to the Old Testament reference for the Tabernacle or the Tent of Meeting. Just as the glory of God was with His people of the Old Testament so He was with His people in the New Testament. Exodus 13:20-22; 14:24-25, 33; Colossians 2:9; John 14:9
John boasts that Jesus never has half empty tanks of grace or is ever partially filled with truth, He declared that Jesus was and is full of grace and truth.
Luke told us the Holy Spirit led Jesus while He lived down here on earth in the flesh. He ministered in and through the Word of God. Jesus lived a sinless life on this earth and followed the leading of God the Father. 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22
King Jesus always spoke truth in love. He did not fear, He could not fear, because He was and is and will always be God. Hebrews 13:8
Following King Jesus will bring about persecution in a Christ-followers life. Matthew 10:34-36
