In Part 1, our frequent show guest, John Cassler, gave us a crash course on the history of cinema and film score music, as well as going over some common music terms associated with composers and film scores. For Part 2, we will be talking about and highlighting three of the six most influential film score composers (in our opinion) of all time. We will talk about the master of leitmotifs, John Williams, the experimental and profound style of, Hans Zimmer, and the epic and episodic musical storytelling that is created by, Howard Shore. All of these composers are masters of their craft and are responsible for some of the most iconic and inspiring moments in music and cinema in the past century. We will be learning about their lives and talking about some of the fantastic films that they have been a part of creating music for. We will also be talking about the difference between film score music, and soundtrack music, since we failed to explain that in Part 1.. (Sorry).. And just in case you were worried, we will also be making a lot of bad jokes and getting off on random absurd tangents again, just like always. :) John Cassler, (Who you may know from our 11th episode on the history of music videos..) is a fantastic and knowledgeable photographer/videographer. He came fully prepared and educated on the history of cinema and the big film score composers that we will be talking about throughout these episode segments. We were honored to have him back on our show, and are extremely grateful for him giving us so much of his time. Happy belated birthday John and thank you for being so patient with us while we were working to get this episode released.
