During the holidays there are so many events and gatherings to attend. For extroverts, that’s no problem. But for those of us who are introverted, it can be an absolute nightmare, because we lose our alone time to recharge.

And let’s not forget that our families can trigger us like no one else and often the holidays involve time with family.

Over the years, I’ve learned to take better care of myself. I now allow myself to say no to invitations. Or if I want to go to a multiday event, I allow myself to spend time alone in an empty room reading or let’s be real Netflixing.
