Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. My Bloody Valentine were a great band from the start, but the 1990 Glider EP broke their floodgates open, as Kevin Shields turned the band's mix of thick guitars, heavy bass, pounding drums, and heavenly vocals into a soundworld of its own.
After a little bit of a summer hiatus, Marc Masters (author of High Bias: The Distorted History of the Cassette Tape) and John Howard (Nice Breeze, Many Spaceships Studio) submerge themselves in the 7-inch version, "Soon" b/w "Glider," on the latest episode of The Spindle.
