What does a young superintendent of Lebanon School District have to do with building a house?
Jeff sits down with our guest Isaac Seevers, Superintendent of Lebanon School District to talk about development, building homes and how home owners and school districts are affected by these developments. When people look for a location to build, it's not just about the lot it's also about the school district and knowing if the home will hold it's resale value? Isaac explains the importance of communicating with developers and the impact that development will have on the future of schools and how the schools are part of the process while planning ahead for future school families and the need forschool buildings, roads and transportation to the schools. He also discusses the complicated topics of property taxes and levy's, why they are needed and the affects of them on home owners and the schools funding.
Isaac doesn't sit behind a desk in his job, he shares many details about the opportunities he has daily to roll up his sleeves and be available and accessible in his career at Lebanon School District as a servant leader to 5500 students, over 700 employees in 5 different buildings. He not only decides snow days, but wears many hats while making decisions in education, administration, land management and building management. Isaac discusses his mission is to interact with others and serve them and always recognizes a learnable moment.
He also shares some fun facts about his personal life. Did you know he used to be a quarterback while playing football in college. He is a husband, father, coach, an ordained minister, and a pretty good singer. Stick around toward the end of the podcast to decide for yourself as he belts out one of his favorite songs from the band Chicago.
