To help the CIO, CSO and CISO's combat the growing cyberattacks today, a new role is emerging and will fast become a standard role in most product and services companies.
The Chief Product Security Officer.
While growing attacks on cyber-physical products like cardiac pace-makers, industrial control systems and automobiles has led to the invention of this role, a lot of industries that base their tooling on Industry 4.0 and 5G tech are soon expected to follow suit.
The role of a CPSO will be a marriage between developer/software architect and security manager/security architect and is expected to provide a tighter security control by augmenting and complementing the more established cybersecurity executive roles.
