You heard that Attorney General Eric Holder plans to resign, and you’ve been wondering about the president’s choice on Holder’s successor. You also heard from members of congress and candidates for office that elections in the U.S. are just around the corner. And then there’s the news of security threats in the Middle East, 3000 lives claimed by an Ebola crisis in West Africa and recurrent threats to historically disadvantaged lives in the American homeland. This week the one brother we hoped could help bridge a gulf of mistrust is dealing with trust issues in his own house. First, you should know that threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. Such a threat consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States.
