*TRIGGER WARNING* This episode contains several references to disordered eating and unhealthy behavior. Listener discretion is advised.

Diet culture throws a lot in our faces: Skinnier is hotter. Restricting calories is cool. In recent years, momentum has shifted more toward loving our bodies, but we still have a long way to go. And to transform our relationships with our bodies, we first need to transform our relationship with what we put into them.

Today's guest is Rachel Wong. She's a clinical dietitian in The Bay Area by day and by night, she runs her own business where she works with clients 1-on-1 to help them overcome their unhealthy relationships with food.

On today's episode, we discuss:

  • Rachel's own body image issues that she wrestled with as a teenager (1:40)
  • her "rock bottom" moment that forced her to consider transforming her relationship with food (7:30)
  • the prevalence of eating disorders among young people (22:40)
  • what a healthy relationship with food should look like (25:08)
  • some of the biggest misconceptions about healthy eating (29:05)
  • the ideal diet (39:40)
