Robert King (Choctaw) is a ceramic artist and owner-director of Duende Gallery in Galisteo. Over the course of the last four years he has transitioned from working as a physician in Oklahoma to working as a full-time artist in the high desert of New Mexico. His vessels are built on a wheel, and by hand primarily from clays and minerals he collects on the lands near his home. His ceramic practice is largely self-taught and informed from his own research and experimentation.
