Labor Day was first celebrated SEP 5th 1882 in NYC.
As with most holidays many citizens think it’s just a day off with little drama or religious connotations.
However, a 100 years ago there was quite a bit of controversy.

Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September.
The history behind the holiday includes The Haymarket Riot in 1886 Chicago, The Pullman Strike and other events around the country - ck it out it’s interesting.
It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894.
Labor Day weekend also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is widely celebrated.
