Episode 081: These Skills Pay the Bills – with Matthew Guerra
Manage episode 359099124 series 2933812
Matthew Guerra is not your typical real estate agent…
It really wasn’t his dream career, nor did he become one so he could make big fat commissions (although he often does!). Instead, he got his real estate license because he wanted to level up his skills… and learn the game of apartment investing.
His focus on skill-building, and a willingness to do things that many others tend to shy away from, has certainly been a major key to his success!
As a result, he’s proficient at acquisitions and closing the deal, underwriting & analysis, raising capital, and putting together a syndication (aka Group Investment).
All are major skills that pay the bills (and he’s really just getting started!).
Here’s a sample of what we discuss:
· It’s not very sexy, but it’s one of the most valuable skill-builders you can employ (and everyone can do it!).
· The secret of the Bamboo tree.
· How any real estate agent or broker can start building a portfolio – even if you don’t have a giant nest egg to start with.
· How Matthew used creative financing to buy a $1.5M student housing project – with very little money out-of-pocket (it’s now worth $2.3M!).
· Much, much more!
