Join me and Njeri Clement as we celebrate how the infusion of global perspectives and empathic leadership can spark meaningful change in our communities and beyond. Together, we'll delve into Njeri's journey, from her rich heritage in rural Africa to her profound impact on the futures of young women through the "Rising Stars" program. Hear her passionately weave the narrative of molding global leaders, practicing feminist social justice education, and the power of servant-hood in leadership.
About our guest:
Njeri ‘Jeri’ Clement is the director of cultural fluency, equity, and inclusion at St. Cloud Technical and Community College (SCTCC) and is an adjunct faculty member at St Cloud State University in the Department of Gender and Women Studies. She is a certified human rights consultant with the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights, a recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award, a Humphrey public policy fellow, and a Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders program fellow.
Njeri earned her bachelor's degree in gender and women studies, a master's degree in social responsibility from St. Cloud State University, and a master's degree in public and nonprofit administration from Metropolitan State University. She continues to pursue her education by working towards her doctorate in leadership studies from Johnson University.
She is a scholar deeply committed to advancing gender, leadership, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her interdisciplinary research work explores these areas to promote transnational and equity change across all sectors of society. As a director, she leads programming, community building, strategic planning, and shapes policy around equity and inclusion processes. Njeri uses her expertise to manage innovative programs that serve marginalized groups. She volunteers by serving on nonprofit boards in Africa and the U.S.
