We all need money to support ourselves. Money can be used in multiple ways to benefit us. Such as buying us a car and a house to live in. We have called it all different names over time, benjamins, bread, bucks, cheddar, bills, and dinero. A person or an organization needs to have regulations regarding how to save money. In each state, a person is appointed to this office to manage the state finances. Just like your bill needs to be paid, the government has bills as well. If you don’t pay your bills something will go wrong.
The way the state government keeps track of its finances is to elect a state treasurer. The state treasurer is responsible for the state access such as cash, savings, debt, and investments. Think of the state treasurer as a bank. This is the bank that is in charge of the state finances for all the people. The state treasurer has guidelines and laws it has to follow to conduct what is needed from the state. The state treasurer works with different boards throughout the government with the governor's office.
In this episode, I will interview a candidate who wants to be the next State treasurer for Louisiana. This candidate's name is Dustin Granger, he will explain why the residents of Louisiana should consider voting for him for the state office. Also, he will explain what a state treasurer position entails.
