Doctoral learning is a complex journey. It takes years of hard work and dedication by the student who needs to critically analyze, research and write the thesis for a successful completion. For the supervisor, however, it provides an opportunity to generate a career-ready graduate with wide variety of skillsets. Because of the pressure and perceived independence connected with this academic endeavor, students may find the journey lonely and unsatisfactory during certain situations. But any obstacle can be overcome with the right mindset and approach. In this week’s episode, we chatted with three amazing researchers, Igor Chekhtma, PhD – Non-clinical and formulation lead at PolyActiva and also worked as a senior research officer for Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre, Liam Koehn, PhD - Postdoctoral researcher at Monash University and completed his doctoral studies on blood-brain barrier from University of Melbourne, Joaquin (Ximo) Sanchis Martinez, PhD – Lecturer at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and who is also associated with Monash-Warwick Alliance research group focusing on targeted delivery of drug-loaded nanomaterials. Tune in to learn more about their experiences and strategies in effective ways of overcoming the challenges during PhD and career opportunities available after completion of PhD.
