Patrick graduated from Oxford University with a first class honors degree in Chinese and spent several years at Bain & Company, a strategy consultancy, consulting across industries including telecoms, petroleum, consumer goods and private equity.
Patrick founded award-winning production company Mandarin Film in 2006, producing some of the most ambitious projects to be filmed in China.
In 2021 Patrick co-founded 247 Pictures which focuses specifically on creating original and ambitious new Asian content for the 'Big 5' streamers (Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Disney +)
Patrick regularly attends and guest speaks at international and domestic conferences, markets and trade fairs, and brings creativity and energy to a variety of television and cinema-release projects that have won awards at Sundance, Berlin and Venice (and Guangzhou, Beijing and Bangkok) Film Festivals.
Mandarin Film has worked extensively with many of the world’s largest broadcasters, renowned production companies and global brands, and has been involved with many of China’s biggest landmark projects:
- The first UK/China treaty film between BBC Worldwide and SMG Pictures for the movie ‘Earth One Amazing Day’
- The first foreign drama series to be filmed in China (Channel 4’s Gap Year)
- The first Netflix Original to be shot in China (Sky Ladder)
- The world’s highest rating doc (National Geographic’s Before the Flood)
- Major landmark series such as The Grand Tour, Earth Shot and Race Across the World
Mandarin Film services Greater China and across South-East Asia, with offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
247 Pictures is an innovative production studio with offices in Singapore and Bangkok that creates original new series for some of the largest streamers in the world.
