If you hate yourself, DO THESE 3 THINGS TODAY
Manage episode 390243081 series 3292132
If you hate yourself, there are three things you can do TODAY-- First, figure out where this feeling originated. Think about where you first felt this feeling. What do you remember people saying about you or to you? Did the people who were supposed to love you fail at that? Who did something to you or failed to do something for you that left you feeling unliked, unwanted or unloved? Think about that person or people. Were they intentionally mean? Were they wounded and broken? Were they not in their right mind? Were they mentally ill or under the influence of something that impaired their thinking? Whatever it is, the problem is with them, not with you. THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM. When we're young, we have no ability to put the words and actions of others into proper context and perspective. We automatically feel that if one person doesn't like us, no one will. If someone mistreats us, we think we deserve it. If you can trace your memories back to what happened as the mature adult you are now, you can put context and perspective around your current feelings. The people who contributed to negative feelings about yourself DON'T KNOW THE REAL YOU. Even if they were there since you were born, or they're the people who brought you into the world, they don't know who you really are. They don't know all of the good that's in you. The second thing you can do is to make a list of all of those good things about you. A quick internet search of personality traits, character traits and types of intelligences will reveal a list of words that can help you describe the goodness inside of you. After you've found these words, the third thing is to think about all you've survived and the things that you've achieved or accomplished that you didn't think you could do. Give yourself credit for all you've lived through and for all that you've learned along the way. When you do all three of these things, write down the words that describe you, the things you've survived or achieved, and the things you've learned along the way. Look at all of those good things and you can see who you REALLY are. From there, you can open the door to your potential which is where you purpose lies. Hopefully you can eventually forgive those people who didn't like you. They probably didn't like themselves either. Your purpose is real success, and it includes healthy relationships with good people, peace, joy, wellness, financial stability and a sense of contentedness that cannot be attained any way other than through living your purpose. So please listen every week as we continue to move toward finding and living the purpose for which you were born and perfectly matched. If you haven't already done so, PLEASE LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, AND SHARE. Please join the conversation on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin @rhondasciortino and on Pinterest @rhondasciortino1.
