They discuss the options for returning to sport and activity following a pectoralis major tear and whether surgery or conservative care is recommended. They also discuss the time line to return to sport and activity, as well as what that time line looks like for both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
Dr. Kendall Hamilton is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at The Methodist Hospital in Houston and previously served as assistant team physician for the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Texans, Houston Dynamo, Houston Ballet, Rice University and NASA Astronaut Corps. Dr. Kendall Hamilton specializes in reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, and knee as well as cartilage transplantation.
