In today's Daily Fix:Capcom thanked fans for 10 million gamers playing the Resident Evil 4 remake by posting a fun little video. However, some are seeing teases for Resident Evil 9 via a wooden sign in the video. Capcom has already confirmed a new mainline entry is in the works, but it might be a ways off. In other news, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is lighting up the sales charts, with around 500,000 copies sold in 24 hours. That's a great start for a new IP with a weird name, and it could be a huge franchise in the future, with a live-action movie already in the works. And finally, be careful when traveling with your cool—probably expensive—game merch. The TSA confiscated a Call of Duty Monkey Bomb from a passenger's check-in luggage, and reminded the public that replicas of weapons and explosives are not allowed on planes. No, the Monkey Bomb wasn't real, but still, the rules are the rules.…

In today's Daily Fix:As you probably already know, Nintendo will be offering upgraded Switch 2 versions of select Switch 1 games, such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom. However, those upgrades aren't free (depending on if you're a Switch Online member or not), and they're not all the same price. The Japanese edition upgrades of Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree will cost $20, instead of the Zelda games' $10. And speaking of the Switch 2, did you get one? Preorders for U.S. customers went live at midnight last night, and it wasn't exactly smooth sailing for many. Let us know in the comments how you were able to snag one if you did. And finally, if you still have money to burn, you can preorder a life-size Eevee and its evolved forms.…

In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo has issued a warning to their Japanese customers over the Switch 2 pre-orders. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa warned that due to overwhelming demand, many who put in a pre-order request might get bumped to the second wave, or beyond. Around 2.2 million requests have already been put in for the Japanese region, and this puts into question Nintendo's ability to meet demand around the world. In related news, U.S. customers will finally be able to get their pre-orders in starting midnight Eastern Time tonight. And finally, Ghost of Yōtei gets a new trailer.…

In today's Daily Fix:The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is finally official, and is available RIGHT NOW. But if you were hoping to install your old mods, or even install mods in the future, well, sorry to disappoint. According the Bethesda's Help Page, the game will not feature mod support. We're not sure why, but hopefully it's something they can add in the future. In other remastered news, Days Gone Remastered is getting more accessibility options, including the ability to slow the game down to as low as 25%. This was done to help players having difficulty with hordes. And finally, Nintendo wants the courts to issue a subpoena to Discord for info regarding a leaker. If the courts agree, and if Discord complies, this could have huge repercussions for companies looking to combat leaks.…

In today's Fix of gaming news:Electronic Arts and DICE showed off some new gameplay from their next Battlefield game, this time highlighting the destructible environments. The game is still in its early phases, and there's no release date or even a title, but it looks to bring the series back to its multiplayer-focused roots with a fun solo campaign. In other news, Bethesda all but confirmed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster with a tweet announcing a livestream tomorrow, and an image of the roman numeral '4'. And finally, Fortnite is kicking off its latest Battle Pass with Darth Jar Jar.…
In today's Daily Fix:After a couple weeks of internal deliberation, Nintendo has finally announced when customers in the United States can preorder the highly anticipated Switch 2: April 24. Pricing for the a la carte console and the bundle with Mario Kart World will not change, but prices for various accessories like extra Joy-Con, a Switch 2 Dock, and the new Pro Controller all got bumps between $5 and $10. In related news, the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws will drop in September, and the new DLC featuring fan-favorite outlaw Hondo Ohnaka will be available in May. And finally, Marvel Rivals is celebrating beach weather with new swimsuit skins. Marvel Comics is also bringing back their famous Swimsuit Issue, so get your wallets ready to drop more money on Marvel Rivals skins.…

In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo held another Direct this morning, this one solely focused on Mario Kart World. All the new game modes were explained, along with a breakdown on new items. In related Nintendo news, there's some confusion over a disclaimer Nintendo has for the Switch 2 version of Tears of the Kingdom. Currently, it sounds like the game won't support the cloud saves you may have via Nintendo Switch Online. A similar disclaimer was placed on the Switch 2 versions of Breath of the Wild and Mario Party Jamboree, but have since been removed. You will still be able to get your old saves over via manually transferring your data, but it would be a lot more convenient to do it over the cloud. And finally, a new form of currency has been added to Marvel Rivals. Unstable Molecules will be used to change the color of your costume, at about a rate of 100 unstable molecules to every U.S. dollar.…

In today's Daily Fix:Former President of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has some thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2. Yoshida praised Nintendo and called the reveal a smart move, citing the new hybrid's technical advantages over the Switch 1. But he also said Nintendo seems to be losing their identity, and called out the Switch 2 for maybe not being the go-to platform for third-party games. In related news, Mario Kart World is getting a dedicated Nintendo Direct tomorrow morning, so join us on IGN.com for a special episode of Nintendo Voice Chat. And finally, Doom: The Dark Ages drops next month, and in addition to the game, you can also preorder new Doom-branded Xbox controllers, both in standard and Elite edition. In today's Daily Fix:The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster that's one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming these days just got an unofficial step closer to being announced. Images from the game were posted to developer Virtuos' website, and quickly spread on Reddit. Virtuos then took the images down (and probably their whole site, as it remained mostly unaccesible for the day), without any comment. The remaster was first revealed during the Microsoft vs FTC trial a few years ago, but it was never officially announced. In other news, fans of Dune who are already hyped for the long-awaited MMO Dune: Awakening, may have to wait a little longer. Feedback during the game's beta period is prompting some extra development time, and the release date has been pushed to June 10. And finally, the chicken jockey may have just saved cinema, as A Minecraft Movie has crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office. The movie could very well be 2025's first billion-dollar hit.…
In today's Daily Fix:Sony is raising the price of select models of the PS5 in several regions, except the U.S. This is likely to counter the expected U.S. tariffs that could his the gaming industry hard in the coming months. The U.S. is the PS5's largest territory and Sony would want to protect the region from rising costs, but that means making up the difference elsewhere. In other news, Call of Duty: Warzone received a shot in the arm as the original Verdansk map has proven to be a hit with fans. The game saw a spike in concurrent players and positive feedback, and Activision has teased more Verdansk-related content in the future. And speaking of shots in the arm, Assassin's Creed Shadows is proving to be the boost that Ubisoft has needed. While it's not the franchise's biggest launch ever, it is currently the second-best-selling game of the year, behind Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds. The game also saw two million players in its first weekend, and strong reviews from critics and longtime fans.…

In today's Daily Fix:In an ongoing lawsuit regarding Ubisoft's shutdown of the online racing game, The Crew, Ubisoft is insisting that customers don't own the games they buy, instead they're purchasing a license to play those games. Ubisoft claims that legal print in the The Crew, as well as on the packaging of physical copies, clearly state that Ubisoft can shutdown the game with 30 days' notice. This could have larger ramifications in the games industry, considering how many live-service games are already popular. In other news, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild will cost gamers a pretty penny if they're buying the Switch 2 enhanded editions from scratch. If you don't already own a Switch 1 copy of Breath of the Wild, a new Switch 2 version will cost a full $70, and DLC is not included (which is an extra $20). Current owners can upgrade for $10, and members of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack get it for free. And finally, kids are going absolutely ballistic for A Minecraft Movie.…

And they just happen to line up on the final day of this year's IGN Live, so come join us for live coverage of the Xbox Showcase, and more! In other news, Hades 2 will be a timed console exclusive for the Switch 2. The game will also come to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, but PlayStation and Xbox users will have to wait a bit. In today's Daily Fix:Experts are weighing in on the Nintendo Switch 2's hefty price tag, and the short answer is: Nintendo can charge that price because they can probably get away with it. Nintendo postponed U.S. and Canadian preorders for the new system in light of the Trump Administration's trade war with practically every country in the Switch 2's supply chain. In other news, Bungie's Marathon is getting a livestream with new gameplay, and the date was discovered by fans who decoded Marathon's ARG. In today's Daily Fix:The Nintendo Switch 2 has been the talk of the gaming world ever since last week's Nintendo Direct deep dive into the system and its launch line-up. Unfortunately it hasn't all been glowing praise, with many criticizing Nintendo's decison to make Mario Kart World—the Switch 2's headlining launch title—a whopping $80 for the game itself. In an exclusive interview with IGN, Nintendo's Bill Trinen has explained why they think the game is worth the hefty price tag. In related news, it's been revealed that another Switch 2 launch title, Welcome Tour, will cost $10, which doesn't sound so bad at first, but many gamers think the game should have been a pack-in title with the system itself. And finally, in gaming-adjecent news, A Minecraft Movie has already broken box office records by having the biggest domestic opening weekend of any animated movie ever.…
Nintendo has taken the unprecedented decision to delay Switch 2 pre-orders in the U.S., blaming the impact of Trump’s tariffs and “evolving market conditions.” There was already a backlash about the price of the Switch 2 and certain games -- Mario Kart World, in particular. 1 Ubisoft Shareholder Threatens Protest After Alleged IP Talks with Microsoft, Others - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:A minority shareholder in Ubisoft is planning a protest against the company, claiming it's "horribly mismanaged." The shareholder alleges that Ubisoft has not been transparent and is "hiding information," including partnerships with the Savvy Group, and holding talks with Microsoft, EA, and others regarding possibly selling Ubisoft IP (maybe that's the only way we'll get a new Splinter Cell). In other news, EA's skate. is in closed alpha testing, but that isn't stopping them from selling microtransactions. EA claims this is to test the store feature to make sure it all works at launch. Mmm hmm. Any purchases made during this testing period will basically be converted back into in-game currency at launch. And speaking of EA, in positive news, Hazelight Studios' co-op Split Fiction not only is getting rave reviews, but sales as well. The game has sold 1 million copies in just 48 hours.…
In today's Daily Fix:A report from Windows Central details Microsoft's next-gen Xbox plans, and they include not only a new console, but two handhelds, one of which is due later this year. Microsoft has yet to comment on the report, but some of the details do line up with what Xbox's Phil Spencer said at IGN Live last year, that the company won't have its own handheld ready for at least a couple of years. In other news, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann spoke with filmmaker Alex Garland about the upcoming sci-fi game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and how religion plays a big role in the game's story. And finally, images and video from a new Battlefield playtest have leaked onto reddit, and EA doesn't seem to mind?…

In today's Daily Fix:MachineGames' hit Indiana Jones adventure for Xbox could be making its PS5 debut very soon. The ESRB recently rated the PS5 port, suggesting that the release date could be around the corner. This tracks with the previous release window of Spring 2025 (and it's now Spring). The game was a huge hit for Xbox, racking up more than 4 million players thanks to a Day One Game Pass release. In related news, Forza Horizon 5 is dropping for PS5 soon, and it will require not only a PSN account, but a Microsoft account, as well. Yes, that's technically two logins you'll need to play the game. Some gamers are concerned that this kills future game preservation for the title, since any issues with one service could affect the game's playability (i.e. you lose access to your Microsoft account for any reason, and you won't be able to play the game at all). And finally, Happy MAR10 Day! It's unofficially a Nintendo holiday every March 10th, and to celebrate this year's, LEGO has dropped a new Mario Kart LEGO set.…

In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 5's latest edition, an "Enhanced" port for PC, is getting slammed in its Steam reviews. Although it's free, the game requires a fresh install, and you need to port your saves and account over from the old legacy version. Plus, certain text communication features are missing, and there's of course bugs. Guess we get a new, but worse, GTA 5 before we get GTA 6, huh? In other news, Sony is starting a rental program for PS5 in the UK. The program will let gamers lease PS5 hardware, or other Sony hardware like the PlayStation Portal, for a fee. While this could be fine for people just wanting to try out the console before comitting, this isn't a rent-to-own or lease-to-own program, which could make it more expensive for prospective PS5 buyers. And finally, a Cheeto sold at auction for around $88,000 USD. But not just any Cheeto, a flamin' hot one that looks like everyone's favorite firebreathing Pokémon.…

In today's Daily Fix:The popular communications service Discord could become a publicly traded company in the future. The service has proven a hit with gamers and content creators, who use it for voice chat and group messaging, and so far it's been relatively devoid of third-party ads. But gamers are now worried that Discord going IPO could bring with it a deluge of ads. In other news, beta testers in the Xbox Insider program are urged caution when trying out the latest Xbox update. In today's Daily Fix: HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 will be dropping soon, but fans of the franchise hoping for a Part 3 of the game might be waiting a long, long time. Like forever. Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann recently told Variety that a Part 3 may never happen. However, Part 2's TV adaptation will go on for at least two seasons, so fans have that to look forward to. In other news, Marvel 1943's Black Panther recently let slip the game's tentative release window: Christmas 2025. While an official release date hasn't been given, a holiday launch doesn't seem too unreasonable. And finally, Nintendo just won another major lawsuit, this time against counterfeit Amiibo sellers. Nintendo and Amazon teamed up to take down sellers peddling Amiibo cards and other devices that mimic Amiibo functionality. In other news, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remastered is now a thing. The collection was announced today with a July 11 release date. In today's Daily Fix:We still haven't seen a new trailer for GTA 6, but Rockstar is expanding its portfolio of studios. Rockstar recently acquired Video Games Deluxe, who worked on the re-release of L.A. Noire and its VR spinoff, and helped fix Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy—The Definitive Edition after its underwhelming launch. No word yet on how this impacts GTA 6, if at all. In other news, blurry screenshots have emerged from a canceled Twisted Metal project. The game was apparently an online title that had traditional vehicular combat mixed with battle royale and on-foot elements. And finally, Monster Hunter Wilds' cheese naan cutscene is sending players on an IRL foodie hunt for actual cheese naan. In fact, an Indian restaurant in Tokyo actually ran out of cheese trying to fill all the orders.…
In today's Daily Fix:InZOI, the new life sim aiming to take a piece of The Sims' pie, will hit early access on March 28th. No word yet on an official console release date. In other news, Monster Hunter Wilds has been out for a day, and its already breaking records. It's the seventh most-played game on Steam based on concurrents, with around 1 million players hunting monsters at the same time. It's so popular that Palworld developer Pocket Pair is giving the day off to employees so they could play the game. And finally, the PlayStation VR 2 is getting a permanent price cut. The VR attachment for PS5 was met with criticism back in 2023 for its high price tag, but if you're on the fence about it, it's now $399, down from $549. Good luck finding some worthwhile PSVR2 games, though.…
In today's Daily Fix:Happy 29th Anniversary, Pokémon! Nintendo dropped a new Pokemon Presents early this morning, and it came with a ton of new details on some upcoming and unannounced projects! We have new footage from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, updates to Pokémon Unite, the new season of the adorable Netflix show, Pokémonn Concierge, and our first look at the new Pokémon Champions battling game. In other monster news, Capcom has finalized the release times for Monster Hunter Wilds. Make sure you've pre-downloaded so you're ready when the game goes live TONIGHT. And finally, we have a trailer for the new Terminator 2D: No Fate, an awesome-looking 2D sidescroller based on arguable one of the greatest action movies of all time.…
In today's Daily Fix:Sony has revealed the lineup of new games coming to PlayStation Plus in March. Headlining the list is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which is a fairly new game, having dropped just a few months ago. The fourth Dragon Age game failed to hit EA's sales goals, so putting the game on PS Plus so soon is likely an attempt at recouping some cash. In other news, BioWare's co-founder put Microsoft on blast for some bad advice during the original Xbox era. It was Microsoft's suggestion that cult favorite RPG Jade Empire be released for the OG Xbox right at the end of its life, just a few months shy of the Xbox 360's debut. Dr. Greg Zeschuk is convinced Jade Empire could've been a hit for BioWare if the game was held for newer hardware. In today's Daily Fix: Warner Bros. Discovery made the painful announcement that they were canceling work on the long-in-development Wonder Woman game, and closing three studios. The Wonder Woman game was first announced in 2021, but was stuck in development hell for years. WB reported spent around $100 million on its development. The three studios being closed or Monolith (who also developed the Shadow of Mordor games), Player First Games, and WB San Diego. In other news, Microsoft dropped a new teaser for the next Fable game, and the unfortunate news that the game is delayed until sometime in 2026. And finally, Bloober Team has signed another deal with Konami for a new game. The developer behind the Silent Hill 2 Remake did not announce what game this would be, but it will be based on an existing Konami IP . Another Silent Hill, perhaps? Or Castlevania?…

In todays' Daily Fix:Assassin's Creed Shadows is about a month from release, but that hasn't stopped copies from showing up in online marketplaces. Apparently older builds of the game are out in the wild, and people are already streaming it (those streams, of course, have been taken down). In other news, Spider-Man voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, has confirmed Peter Parker will be in the third Insomniac Spider-Man game. In what capacity, he didn't say, but he teased that Parker won't just be sitting on a couch and letting Miles have all the fun. And finally, the trade war between the U.S. and China could be affecting gaming hardware, and Sony is preparing for just such a situation. In today's Daily Fix:Developers for Chinese Pokémon copycat game, Pocket Monster: Remake, have issued a public apology after losing a lawsuit with Nintendo. And not only that, Nintendo was awarded around $15 million. In other news, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth has finally hit Steam, where it debuted at number 3. This is a financial turnaround for the game, which has been available on PS5 for a year, and did not live up to sales expectations. And finally, PC parts maker Corsair has clarified its comments about the PC port of Grand Theft Auto 6. In today's Daily Fix:It's been more than a day since Nintendo's deep dive into the new Switch 2 and its software lineup. The consensus seems to be that it's more powerful than expected, but also way more expensive than most people thought, especially for games. Mario Kart World will retail for a whopping $79.99 in the U.S. (and more for physical copies in different regions). What does this mean for Grand Theft Auto 6? A release date hasn't been announced, and this could very well be an $80 game. Would you pay that much for GTA 6? In other news, Xbox's Game Pass Wave 1 for April has been revealed, headlined by South of Midnight. And finally, pets are coming to InZOI.…
In today's Daily Fix:It's the big day: the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct went live this morning and as expected we got a much deeper look at the Switch 2's hardware and features. Nintendo also gave details on the games lineup, with some major third-party games coming to the new console. One title that barely got a mention, but is one of the most anticipated games of the year, was Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is confirmed for 2025. Nintendo also revealed the release date and pricing for the Switch 2, along with the pre-order date. Sorry, it wasn't today as many hoped, but next week. So get your wallets ready, it's going to be an expensive day.…
In today's Daily Fix:Tom Holland is a busy guy these days. He's currently filming Christopher Nolan's adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, and will then go right to production on the next Spider-Man film, which now has an official title and release date. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive in theatres July 31, 2026, just a couple of weeks after Nolan's The Odyssey hits screens. As you can probably guess by the title, the new movie will take some inspiration from the Brand New Day story arc in Spider-Man comics. In other kind of related news, Venom in Marvel Rivals has a emote: twerking. The emote is free for April Fool's Day, and will likely stick around past Season 1. And finally, we have an approximate runtime for tomorrow's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. The Direct will be Nintendo's longest so far, running about an hour.…

CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed to Bloomberg that the company isn't ready to share more marketing materials until closer to the game's release date, which also hasn't been revealed. Speaking of release dates, Ghost of Yōtei doesn't have one just yet, but more details of the game's plot have been revealed. In today's Daily Fix:The Legend of Zelda movie finally has a release date: March 26th, 2027. For such an anticipated project, Nintendo chose the most low-key way of announcing the date: via their new Nintendo Today news app. They did just have a Nintendo Direct yesterday, which did not contain any mention of the movie, and they also have a Switch 2-focused Direct next week; both of those would have more obvious options to drop the news. Elsewhere in games, Ubisoft and Tencent have formed a new subsidiary company that will handle some of Ubi's big IPs like Far Cry, Rainbow Six, and Assassin's Creed. And finally, new Sims challenger InZOI is still in early access, and players have already found a bug that will let you run over children with a car. Yes, it's already patched.…

But that didn't stop Best Buy Canada from accidentally posting—and then deleting—the preorder date for the Switch 2. According to Best Buy Canada, they will start taking preorders on April 2nd, the same day as the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct. In related news, today's Direct revealed a new Nintendo news app, which features another look at the Switch 2's Joy-Con, and that mysterious button that we now know as the 'C' button. In today's Daily Fix:Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet doesn't have an official release date, but according to Bloomberg, the game may not make it out until 2027 at the earliest. That would make it seven years into the life of the PlayStation 5, and there's a good chance Sony will have already announced the PS6. Could Intergalactic be withheld from the current-gen PS5 and be a launch title for the PS6? And would that mean Naughty Dog has missed the PS5 generation entirely, outside of remakes and remasters? In today's Daily Fix:Assassin's Creed Shadows has been a hit with critics and with fans, boasting huge first- and second-day player concurrents in the millions. However, Ubisoft has not released sales figures (yet), and cautions that Shadows' sales performance shouldn't be compared to the last mainline AC game, Valhalla, which was released at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone was staying home and playing games anyway. Shadows instead should be compared to Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Origins, and Mirage, which was the most recent release before Shadows. In other news, two major games just received big updates—Monster Hunter Wilds is getting its first big patch, and Civilization 7 has a new update that addresses much-needed quality-of-life issues.…

And finally, co-op hit Split Fiction's success is catching the eye of Hollywood, and now a package is being put together to shop an adaptation to the big studios.…

In today's Daily Fix:Assassin's Creed Shadows has had its share of controversy during development, and Ubisoft is issuing a Day 1 patch to address one of them. Amid a bunch of other smaller changes, the Day 1 patch also makes it so players can't destroy the environment inside temples. Some objects inside temples can still be destroyed, provided they are generic objects found elsewhere in the game, but certain tables and racks can't be destroyed. In other news, Xbox's Phil Spencer wants to adapt more Microsoft IP to movies or shows. The Halo series failed to connect with fans, but Xbox has had success with the Fallout show, which may provide the blueprint for other live-action adaptations.
