Today, we’ll experience Simi Valley followed by an interview with remarkable and inspiring Steve Strope! Steve Strope’s journey to owning Pure Vision Design, a renowned hot rod and muscle car fabrication shop in Simi Valley, California, is a story of passion, perseverance, and creativity. Raised in Apalachin, New York, Strope’s path to success had many twists and turns, including playing in his band, Twist of Fate, for eight years in the Triple Cities area. His love for music played a pivotal role in shaping his creative approach to car building. After moving to California over two decades ago to pursue a career in the hot rod industry, Strope faced an early setback when the company he planned to work for went out of business. However, through a series of chance meetings, he secured a job in a hot rod shop, which became the foundation of his career. His breakthrough came when Hot Rod Magazine spotted his beloved '67 Chevy El Camino and featured it, marking the realization of his dream to be in a magazine. At Pure Vision, Strope and his small team craft award-winning, trendsetting cars inspired by fictional stories, with unique engines and designs that evoke emotion. His success has led him to work with celebrities like Jay Leno and co-host the YouTube podcast Car Guy Confessions with Jeff Smith and Cam Benty, where they explore the intersections of cars, BMX, and music.
