Most people associate the country of Vietnam with the 1960s and 1970s America-Vietnam War.
In its 1980s wake, there was a wave of "boat people," who were evading poverty, hunger, and political persecution for newfound freedoms in the west.
Today, many don't think of Vietnam as a rising economic "Asian tiger," that is Southeast Asia leader getting more known as a secondary manufacturing alternative to China.
