Ep. 34 - Chad Opitz Will Easter Egg His Way Into Your Heart
Manage episode 435188617 series 3545848
In another movie-heavy episode of Jokes and the Gym with Rudy Tyburczy, my guest Chad Opitz and I talk about many things comedy as well as our love for movies and what it’s like for him living in a place that embraces movies. Chad discusses his move to LA, why he did it, some classic character actor stories, and what series starring Billy Bob Thornton you can find him in as an Easter Egg (it’s somewhere in season 4…).
Big ideas in this episode are finding joy in comedy, as well as how to navigate anxiety in the comedy world, including the one change that many of us can make, which my younger self might not have been too happy with. We discuss a new term to me, “brain zaps”, and how they can impact you. And I try to coin a phrase about fatigue that may not make any sense.
We talk about writing processes and tracking habits, and how they can help you grow, or how they can be so detailed that there’s almost no use of them. Chad offers his younger self about taking risks and embracing his unique style, while still having fun. Chad is a damn delight, both onstage and off, and I hope you enjoy our conversation. Thanks for dropping by
