Hey there fellow beach lovers, let's talk waves and rips! Here's your surf zone forecast straight from the good folks at the National Weather Service in New York.
Starting off in Kings (Brooklyn), we've got a high risk of rip currents hangin' around today and tomorrow, so be extra cautious in those waters. Surf height's lookin' at a solid 3 to 5 feet with temps in the lower 70s. Cloudy skies and a chance of showers are on the agenda. And don't forget, your UV index is on the low side.
Moving on to Southern Queens, conditions mirror those in Kings, with a high rip current risk alongside waves reaching 3 to 5 feet. You can expect more of that cool, cloudy weather with a shower or two possible. Make sure to check those tides!
Down in Southern Nassau, it's a similar story - high rip current risk, 3 to 5-foot waves, and cloudy skies with a chance of showers. Those northeast winds are blowing around 15 mph, so hold onto your hats!
Heading over to Southwestern Suffolk, the rip current risk remains high, waves are 3 to 5 feet high, and showers are likely on Thursday. Keep an eye out for those tides at Fire Island Inlet!
And last but not least, in Southeastern Suffolk, once again, high rip currents and 3 to 5-foot waves are in store. The weather's keeping it cloudy with showers in the forecast. Watch out for those winds at Shinnecock Inlet!
Remember, always stay safe in the water, especially in these rip current conditions. Have fun, catch some waves, and enjoy the beach vibes!
