For this month's episode of the Our Sam Talking out Loud podcast series, we have partnered with SOFT UK, to focus on Trisomy conditions in babies, specifically Trisomy 13, known as Patau's syndrome, and Trisomy 18, known as Edwards' syndrome.
In the second part of this special focus episode, Philippa talks to Professor Nick Embleton, Professor of Neonatal Medicine (Newcastle University) Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician (Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust) who has returned to talk about the difficult balance when offering support and care choices to parents and families, the difference that the right communication at the right time can make, care pathways within primary and secondary healthcare for babies, parents and families with life limiting conditions, focusing on Trisomy 13 and 18, and also thoughts about further development of more collaborative care pathways.
